Fasgadh Self Catering Accommodation, Holy Loch, Dunoon

Special Arrangements In The Light Of Covid-19

Unfortunately it will not be possible for everything to be as normal at Fasgadh during the risk period associated with the Covid-19 pandemic. I apologise for any inconvenience caused, but all steps taken have been necessary to minimise the risk to guests, cleaning staff and host. I’m sorry there’s a lot to read here, but I’m sure you’ll find it all common sense and sensible in the circumstances.  I, and the cleaning company employed, have been trained and certified in a dedicated Covid-19 cleaning and disinfection course.

I’m confident you will still be able to enjoy a wonderful holiday nonetheless. ~ Graeme

Guests’ attention is drawn to the following:

All Covid-19 safety measures and protocols comply with what has been agreed by all four UK governments and self-catering bodies in the four respective respective home nations.  They are contained in the following document.  Cleaning-Protocols-for-Self-Catering-Properties-and-Short-Term-Lets-V4-1.

A risk assessment has been carried out and you can view it here Risk Assessment Fasgadh 20-09-04.  This will be reviewed frequently.

Specific instructions and arrangements at Holy Loch Holidays in the light of Covid-19:

  1. The lead guest will be required to submit an online pre-stay questionnaire, which will be e-mailed to them, to confirm that none of the arriving guests have had any Covid-19 symptoms or have tested positive for Covid-19 during the 14 day period preceding arrival.
  2. To accommodate full cleaning and disinfection arrival will definitely be no earlier than 16.00, and could even be later than this.  Your arrival time will be confirmed on the day by mobile phone.
  3. For the same reason departure will have to be no later than 09.30 sharp.
  4. On arrival guests should remain in their vehicle(s) or in the garden while the host shows one lead guest round the property, observing social distancing.
  5. All guests should use the hand sanitiser provided throughout their stay whenever entering the property, and also wash hands frequently while in the property.
  6. Guests should not touch or handle the wifi router and should connect any devices to it by using the wifi code displayed and not the QR code on the router.
  7. While out of the property during their stay, all guests should observe social distancing outwith their family group.  Guests should note that face coverings are now mandatory in Scotland on public transport and in shops and the social distancing rule is 2 metres.
  8. If any guest develops Covid-19 symptoms during their stay the host must be informed immediately and the “What to do if a guest develops or arrives with COVID-19 symptoms” (page 9 here) protocol must be followed.
  9. If you are unwell and cannot return home, you will be expected to pay all costs to your accommodation provider, which may include compensation to following guests who may be denied access.
  10. It is highly recommended that you take out holiday insurance.
  11. Should there be any maintenance issues during your stay, these will be dealt with while you are out of the property (except in emergency).
  12. All un-necessary or purely decorative soft furnishings; garden furniture and bbq; information brochures; games & toys and spare cutlery, crockery & glassware will be removed from the property for the duration of the Covid-19 risk period.  Guests should bring their own folding garden chairs/bbq etc if desired.
  13. Unfortunately it will not be possible to supply the usual complementary welcome pack during this time.
  14. On the morning of departure beds must be stripped and the bed linen placed in the clear plastic bags provided.  Bed linen must not be folded but ‘stuffed’ into the bags unfolded.  Towels and cloths should be ‘stuffed’ in the blue Ikea bags provided.  Mattress & pillow protectors should be left in situ – they will be dealt with in a separate procedure.
  15. On departure all windows and internal doors must be left open.
  16. The outer doors should be closed but left unlocked with the keys left on the hall stand.
  17. The lead guest will be required to submit an online post-stay questionnaire, which will be e-mailed to them, to confirm if any guests have developed any Covid-19 symptoms or have tested positive for Covid-19 within 14 days of leaving the property and to provide contact details for any such individuals.
  18. These arrangements may be updated at any time and, if or where they contradict the usual routine arrangements, these arrangements will take precedence.
